Varn Wood Products is a 50-year-old, family-owned Southern Pine sawmill producing

100 million board feet annually. We produce lumber that is sold all over the Southeast to wholesalers, retailers, and treaters, primarily for the home building industry. We employ 75 people, with a third having been with us for over 10 years.

 

The family takes pride in the fact that every part of the log is used, including the residues left over after lumber is produced. Our chips and some planer shavings are used in the production of wood pellets. Sawdust heats our pellet plant dryer. Most of our planer shavings heat the dry lumber dry kiln. Bark is sold for boiler fuel and mulch.
